ST. MARY’S MANSIONS REGENERATION, DUBLIN 1

CS Consulting was appointed by Clúid Housing Association to provide our services on the major regeneration of the St. Mary's Mansions apartment complex, located in Dublin's North inner city on Sean McDermott Street Lower, Dublin 1. The complex was built by Dublin Corporation over 70 years ago, and needed to be brought up to current standards for residents. The project involved the deep-retrofit of the complex to bring it up to current standards, including the addition of two new floors to create 80 substantial, high-quality modern apartments and duplexes with each obtaining an "A2" BER rating.

The existing apartments were stripped back to the original concrete shell and enlarged to comply with current spatial standards. This required substantial structural assessment of the existing structures and design for reconfiguration of units and the expansion and upgrade of the existing civil infrastructure. Each apartment is provided with an area of open space outside the entrance door for seating, while each ground-floor apartment is provided with a small garden.
